How long does it take Chargerito to charge a device?

It varies significantly according to the device being charged, room temperature, age of the battery, etc., but Chargerito charges as quickly as the leading in-wall chargers out there. It takes about two hours to charge an iPhone 5 from 0 to 100%. That's twice as fast as it takes your phone to charge off your computer's USB cable.

Can I get a discount for ordering more than one unit?

Yes, if you are a retailer interested in selling Chargerito and order a minimum of 12 units, you'll receive a volume discount on top of the regular crowd funding discount. Please email us at info@chargerito.com to get set up as a retailer.

What certifications does this product have?

We are still finalizing the process, but Chargerito will be UL certified before it is shipped. UL is the most universal and stringent consumer electronics standard in the world. It ensures electrical products meet a variety of safety checks for consumer use.

Why do a crowdfunding campaign, why not just build the product and start selling it the old fashioned way?

Developing a new product requires a lot of upfront costs, including UL certification, tooling, circuit board testing, and prototyping. We're a team of independent entrepreneurs without any professional financial backing, so we require the help of our customers to help mitigate these costs. Also, we think this product is awesome, but we have no idea if the rest of the world does too. When is a Chargerito most useful?

A lot of people have a charger at home, work, and maybe even in their car, but there are all those random scenarios where you find yourself with low battery and no easy way to charge your phone. Maybe you're visiting your grandmother who's never owned a mobile cell phone or traveling and forgot to pack all the essentials. Maybe it's a late night at the bar and you really need to send a text or you just landed on a late flight and need to tell your friend where to pick you up. Since Chargerito is always with you, you never have to worry about running out of battery at the wrong time.

How is my device held securely as it charges?

Chargerito fits firmly into the wall outlet and can support a lot of weight, as shown in our demo video, so even something as heavy as an iPad will charge safely on it. That said, if something were to knock into the side of your device forcefully, such as a toddler, cat, or oblivious person, that could knock it off its perch (chargerito would break before your device does, so it's a much less expensive fix). So when using Chargerito, you should look for an outlet that is safe from these hazards.
